Book Review: First Day of My Life by Lisa Williamson

Every time I pick up a Lisa Williamson book I end up loving it. Each one always manages to be so different and so unexpected and First Day of My Life delivered this once again. REVIEW

There is always more than one side to every story, no matter what that story might be. Frankie is waiting for her best friend Jojo to go and collect their GCSE results together. But usually reliable Jojo has gone AWOL and Frankie can't get hold of her. Soon news starts to circulate that a baby has been stolen and Frankie suspicions start to grow. The only person that can help her is her ex-boyfriend Ram and has they embark on their journey to find Jojo, the three of them are in for more of a shock that they realised.
I'm really conscious of giving too much away of this story, so I will leave the plot line at that, but I just did not expect this to pack the emotional punch that it did. It's honest and raw, it's heartbreaking and revelatory. The characters and their relationships felt true and they intertwined well, so the three perspectives gave the story the rounded view that it needed 
What really stood out was that sometimes you have to do what's right for you, even if it hurts other people in the process. I did take issue with a couple of the supporting characters behaviour throughout the book, but I know this was done on purpose and it's important that others don't take away your choices.
I have been in quite the reading slump, but First Day of My Life was so easy to get into, the mystery, the intrigue and the unique story kept me turning the pages eager to find out what other revelations were coming our way.
Another story from Lisa Williamson that pulled on my heart strings. As ever I am eager for her next story.
