REVIEW
I do love a Christmas read around this time of year, especially if it has the build up to it too. Also I think you know the kind of story you're going to get and I think that's nice, especially with all the uncertainty going on at the minute.
The Country Village Christmas Show tells the story of Claire. Recently divorced and her home all sold, Claire has to make her way back to her childhood home and weigh up her options. Having dedicated her adult life to her family, and now its time she made some time for herself. She knew moving back in with her Mum would be a little tricky, but something isn't quite right and she wants to get her Mum back to her old self. Soon Claire finds herself running the Country Village Christmas Show, bringing people together from the community, Claire herself starts to feel like she has a purpose again, but will she manage to pull it off and will she be able to get that new start she craves.
This was a very cosy and easy read. It was quite nice to just chill with this book and knew that nothing too crazy was going to happen. I liked reading about the sense of community and bringing people together and I wanted that happiness for Claire.
The only thing that I struggled with was some of the descriptions as they were at times repetitive and not always necessary, but the overall storyline made up for this.
Overall a nice comforting read in the lead up to Christmas.
