Blog Tour: Through the Wall by Caroline Corcoran

REVIEW

You would think with the amount of thrillers I've read and are out there that nothing could surpise me or grip me anymore, but then I read Through the Wall.

Lexie and Harriet are neighbours, but they have never officially met. Lexie loves her home with her boyfriend Tom, but recently things have not felt right. Things have gone missing or are not where she first put them. She is going mad despite what Tom says. There's someone out there watching her and she knows there's nothing she can do to stop it.

Ah this was so so good! I relished reading every page and was actually the book to get my out of my huge reading slump and enjoy reading again. Split between our main characters Lexie and Harriet it was fascinating to read how despite not knowing one another, the perceptions they garnered from social media and the outside, when in fact the realities were very very different. I found this theme the most interesting in the whole story as so many people, myself included compare our lives to others and always think other people have better lives than we do. It leaves us sometimes wishing we had that other person's life; but what if someone takes that too far?

There were other really hard hitting themes throughout Through the Wall, and they hit home for me in different ways so it was quite hard going at times. I had equal amounts of sympathy for both main characters but obviously constantly in suspense for what was to happen.

I really don't want to give too much away from this as it's one of those stories that has so much build up and suspense, you will want to experience it yourself firsthand.

Through the Wall is by far my favourite thriller of 2019. It's timely, realistic and utterly engrossing.
