Happy Wednesday everyone. I am delighted to be on the tour for The Hand, the Eye and the Heart by Zoe Marriott today. Zoe is known for her epic fairytale retellings and when I heard her latest was Mulan, I couldn't wait to read it. As part of the tour I have a Mulan inspired outfit to share with you.
I love the beautiful outfits that Mulan wears, they are simple yet beautiful. I have tried to create an every day look using the below outfit as inspiration. Yellow, blue and green are definitely not usual outfit choices for me, but somehow Mulan makes it work, so I have pieced together my own, daywear version.
I decided to go with slightly lighter colours, more pastel colours than Mulan's to suit my sort of style and kept it slightly girly with a bit of an edge with a denim jacket.
I also paired the outfit with some blue accessories including a blue scalloped edged bag and some pale blue shoes.
I also added a bird belt to give a nod to the animal theme and the beautiful and loyal bird Bingbing in the book. It is also the perfect place to keep the book.
Simple and understated. This is a look I never would have paired together before but thanks to Mulan I now have a new outfit to wear.
A huge thank you to Walker books for having me on the tour for The Hand, the Eye and the Heart. I am half way through this gorgeous book and savouring every moment of it.
