I have a week full of blog tours this week and today I am on the tour for Cecelia Ahern's latest book Roar, a collection of thirty short stories that that are told in each of their own unique ways. Read on for the full review.
REVIEW
Cecelia Ahern is one of my favourite authors. There hasn't been a book of hers I hadn't liked and her latest release Roar went straight on the to-be-read pile. Complied of thirty short stories about women, these are thirty stories to inspire, motivate and take note of the world as a woman.
I never used to like short stories. I never felt like the author gave me enough time to get to know the characters or really get into the story, but Cecelia's short stories have completely changed my view towards them. Averaging at 7 pages a story, these super witty, clever stories focus on the issues that different woman have to deal every single day. Whether that is being left on the shelf, feeling guilty for having a career and a family or the dreaded ticking clock we have inside of us, there is a story for every woman no matter what stage of their life they are at. And even though not every story was aimed at where I am at right now, I know that will be me one day and I will not let those issues take over.
Cecelia Ahern has a way with words that just don't seem to compare to other authors. Her voice is so unique and her lyrical way with words mean that they manage to delve deep into your own feelings. Her stories are imaginative but really hit home and she covers every issue you can imagine from gender to fertility to love and family.
Her stories will inspire and empower women to be seen and heard. There will be something to make you roar!
Roar is out on 1st November
