REVIEW

Reading Trisha Ashley's stories is like being wrapped up in a warm blanket and on many occasion reading this that's exactly what I was doing.

When Carey breaks his leg in a hit and run, he is very quickly axed from his TV series. With hope looking a bit lost on hos part, he unexpectedly becomes heir to Mossby, a part of his family that he never knew existed. This suddenly becomes the perfect opportunity for him and he knows his friend Angel will be able to help out.

Angel also becomes very down on her luck when her partner of ten years passes away and she is kicked out of their home by his son. With no where to live and no job, life is not looking great for Angel until her long term friend Carey gets in touch.

Cue a comforting story line set in the wonderful area of Lancashire, full of eclectic characters and some everyday villains to make your blood. Trisha has this brilliant way of making you feel like you are part of the story when she writes. I felt that I could have so easily slotted in with the characters and Trisha has created a wonderful protagonist that you can't help but root for.
My favourite parts though were the diary entries from over 100 years ago linked to Mossby's history. These very easily could have been a story on their own. I loved the mystery surrounding Mossby and these diaries entries were a delight to read and something extra to look forward to at the beginning of each chapter.

Another wonderfully comforting story from Trisha where I always feel right at home and with a touch of mystery thrown in.

The House of Hopes and Dreams is out now
