Reasons I love Autumn
I know we are technically at the tail end of Autumn now, but now that I'm slowly but surely starting to get my blogging mojo back, I wanted the share with you all some the reasons I love Autumn.
Fresh Starts and New Beginnings
I know we mainly consider January as a chance to start afresh, but for me it is Autumn. It relates back to starting school and University in the autumn term, but I have also started my last two jobs in the autumn months and there is just a general feeling of new about it. I see it as the time to make new plans and think ahead for the future. Also January is SO depressing, I much prefer to bury my head in the sand or the snow during that time. I am also ten times more likely to join the gym in Autumn than I am in January- fighting against the cliche.
Getting cosy with a book
As the nights start to get colder, it's a great excuse to get all cosy with a book. My favourite place right now to do this is in our main bedroom at home. It's currently the only room that is nearly all decorated and I really look forward to coming home after work or a day out and getting all snuggly in there.
Pumpkin Spiced Lattes
Ok so I did get an email the other day from Starbucks saying that I can get early access to Gingerbread Lattes, but you can still get a Pumpkin Spiced one and they are literally my favourite coffee. With pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove, what's not to love? Is it crazy to get excited about coffee? You will literally only catch me in Starbucks from the months of September to December and then that's me coffeed out for the year.
Pub Sunday Roast
I love a Sunday roast anytime of the year, but there is just something utterly delightful and heartwarming about being in a pub on a Sunday by the log burning stove surrounded by the ones you love.
Autumn Colours
The red's, the yellows, the oranges, the browns, the magentas, oh what an infusion of glorious colours.
Pumpkins
Big, small, carved, orange, white or yellow and they look great in photos!
Autumn Walks
With friends, family or your other half. I love getting all wrapped up and heading off for a stroll whether it's in a park, the woods or a National Trust place like Sheffield Park which I went to last week. There is just something so refreshing about these walks and you can of course take in the autumn colours in all their glory.
Knitwear/Autumn Wear
I don't think I am alone when I say I have been desperate to get my cosy jumpers and boots on and it has been a bit of a wait this year and even now there are still some days when it's not cold enough! Autumn fashion is my favourite season for fashion, you can layer it up, get a beautiful coat and boots on and of course those chunky knit jumpers. I feel like I know where I am with autumn dressing, summer is always a bit indecisive, as it may be too cold for shorts or that summer dress.
