British Books Reading Challenge 2017 Sign Up

Even though I have reduced my target amount of books to read this year, one of my goals is to get involved in other reading challenges. I also want to make sure that I read books that I really want to read. I know this may sound odd, but there were so many books last year I didn't get the chance to read or hadn't heard about, so when I saw The British Books Challenge over on the lovely Chelley's blog Tales of Yesterday, I knew I had to take part.

I am actually really excited to get involved with this challenge. There are so many brilliant British authors out there and sometimes I miss them! The challenge is to read at least 12 books by British authors by 31st December 2017. Without further ado, below are the books I want to read this year. This list will definitely grow as the year goes on, but so far these are the ones that I have listed:

1. Wing Jones by Katherine Webber

2. Gilded Cage by Vic James

3. The Bookshop Girl by Sylvia Bishop

4. The Trouble with Goats and Sheep by Joanna Cannon

5. A Quiet Kind of Thunder by Sara Barnard

6. Ink by Alice Broadway

And more to follow!
There's still time to sign up if you want to. Just head over to Tales of Yesterday

  1. I always struggle with challenges involving picking books in advance...it's as if my mind suddenly decides to be deliberately contrary!

    1. Haha I do know what you mean! That's why I have only picked 12 so far, but hoping to go above that.

  2. I always choose my books literally minutes before I start to read them I cannot pre-plan books to read it just doesn't work for me but this seems like a fun challenge https://nishainwonderland.wordpress.com/

    1. Hey Nisha, that makes complete sense and sometimes I do read like that, but there are so many books I know that I am going to read this year, so a bit easier to pre-plan.

  4. Good luck reading more books you WANT to read this year. It's my mission too, so I'm trying to alternate by reading one review book and then one book I've been meaning to read for a while.

    1. Brilliant idea! And exactly what I want to do as missed out on so many good books last year, like The Trouble with Goats and Sheep, which is added in this list.
