Happy Sunday all! Today I am delighted to be the final part in the blog tour for Yellow Brick War by Danielle Paige. This is the third book in the Dorothy Must Die series and have been enjoying it so much. Today I am sharing my review with you as part of the tour. The previous stops on the tour are listed below, so do check back at their blogs for some other reviews of Yellow Brick War.
I was all set up for this book to be the last in the series, but it's not and I am so happy as I am not quite ready to leave this twisted world of Oz just yet.
Throughout this series, Danielle has always managed to captivate me with her words and descriptions. There is just something about her writing that holds you in its thrall and doesn't want to let you go. Also usually I have a memory lapse between books in a series as there is a gap between them, but that wasn't the case with this series, I was straight into this and it didn't feel like it was that long ago I had been reading the first and second books.
Despite there being less action in Yellow Brick War compared to the other two books, I still really enjoyed it. Once again though you just have no idea where this book is going to take you and what will happen next. Danielle really does think of everything involved from the original story of Oz and manage to create something out of it that wouldn't even occur to you. Danielle really has turned the story of the Wizard of Oz on its head, but every time I come back to the story, it somehow manages to make sense and actually seem feasible from the original story. This story just builds and builds and builds and I love that you never know what Danielle has in store for us next.
I really don't want to say too much more in case I give anything away, if you are yet to read this series, this is fantastical continuation of The Wizard of Oz story that you definitely won't be expecting.
Yet again we are left with another brilliant cliffhanger and I know I am super eager to read the next instalment.
