The Widow
There was loads of talk (and still is) about this book and I have had a copy crying out to be read on my shelf, but was putting Christmas books first. This has already had loads of praise, so I'm really really hoping this one lives up to the hype. It is getting harder for thrillers to really stand out, but I think so many of them are really giving it their all and making it impossible to guess what the ending is. This is another book from Transworld who also published The Girl on the Train at the beginning of last year, so I am hoping for very exciting things with this one.
Morning Star
I think it is safe to say that Morning Star is my MOST anticipated read of 2016! I have absolutely loved the first two books in the series, Red Rising and Golden Son and I literally have not this excited about a book series since Harry Potter. If you haven't come across this amazing series yet and love fantasy then seriously go and check out the first book, you will love!
The Ballroom
I had the absolute pleasure of reading and reviewing Anna's debut Wake back in 2014 which was set in post World War One. So I am delighted that she has released her second book and that it is very different to her first one and has really peaked my interest. Although set in the same period, the Ballroom is a story set in an asylum, where men and women are kept apart, but once a week, they are allowed to come together and dance. This is where John and Ella meet and is a dance that will change two lives forever. This book is currently sitting on my TBR and I will be starting it very soon!
The One in a Million Boy
This was another book that I kept seeing crop up last year, especially as it has such a striking cover. I am particularly intrigued as it apparently is not to be missed by fans of The Unlikely Pilgrimmage of Harold Fry, which I adored when I read it, so it has made me want to read this even more. There is even a prequel coming out next week called A Woman in Million which I have pre-downloaded. It's free to download, so if you want a taster of what this book will be like, then definitely download it.
Truthwitch
Although I am not a big fan of the cover of this one, the synopsis has really peaked my interest as it is of course a fantasy novel- one of my favourite genres and is of course YA, another favourite genre of mine. This bit has got me very excited to read: Young witches Safiya and Iseult have a habit of finding trouble. After clashing with a powerful Guildmaster and his ruthless Bloodwitch bodyguard, the friends are forced to flee their home. I am more than sure I am going to love this series.
The Night that Changed Everything
Another book I read back in 2014 was Laura and Jimmy's debut, The Best Thing that Never Happened to me, and I thought it was brilliant. You can imagine my delight then when I saw that they had a second book coming out. I was really lucky to meet Laura and Jimmy back in December and they thanked me for reviewing their previous book, which I thought was SO nice of them. I am looking forward to getting stuck into this one.
The Missing
Another thriller I am massively excited for this year is The Missing by Cally Taylor. I read her previous book The Lie last year and thought it was absolutely brilliant. So brilliant in fact that it made it into my Top 15 books of 2015 and was also my favourite thriller of last year. I haven't read the synopsis for this one as I want to go in knowing nothing so I don't make any assumptions as to what will happen. I know The Lie gripped me so much and I did not see the events that unfolded coming.

This is another YA series that I literally CANNOT get enough of! I remember reading Half Bad, the first in this fantastic trilogy and being completely blown away. This series felt like nothing I had ever read before. This was from the writing style to the story itself. Again witches and fantasy, just my cup of tea! I must also mention how stunning these covers are! They are sitting proudly on my bookshelf.
