Review
I without a doubt loved this book to pieces, it's funny, it's witty and is of course highly informative. Every girl and woman needs to read this.
I was actually really lucky to meet Hayley at the Hot Key Books Blogger Brunch back in April and she read some snippets from her latest book Being A Girl and she made it sound so good that I was hankering to read it.
So what is Being A Girl actually about? Well the obvious it's all the things you have to deal with and go through as girl, that is everything from periods to plucking your eyebrows, as well as relationships and, hormones and the hierarchy of school.
There is SO much in this book that I really really wish I had known back when I was on the cusp of puberty and throughout my teenage years. It actually brought back a lot of memories of growing up, some awkward, some funny and some downright doh moments.
Hayley has managed to make this fun to read, but talk about real, serious issues and stuff that girls have to go through as they get older. The illustrations really add to the enjoyment of reading it.
Being A Girl is going to take pride of place on my bookshelf and I will be passing it down to my nieces and hopefully one day, my own children.
