Penguin's Annual Fiction Showcase Event
Penguin General's Annual Fiction Showcase event.
Last week I was very excited to have been invited to Penguin General's Fiction Showcase event. This was held at Foyles which is literally the best ever book store! Wish there was one closer to me!
This is the second Penguin event I have been invited to within a month, so was feeling very spoiled.
I brought the lovely Zarina along as my plus one and we got to meet the authors with new books coming out next year.
I had already been sent Claire Fuller's new book 'Our Endless Numbered Days' so I was thrilled to meet Claire and get her to sign my book. Each of the authors also did a reading from their books and Paul Murray had me and the rest of the audience in fits.
We were lucky enough to be able to pick up some proofs and as Paul's book is still very much in draft form we were given his first book Skippy Dies, which I have already read the first page of and I know it's going to be a funny book!
So even though my TBR pile is towering and my goodreads challenge says I'm one book behind! I picked up four other books. What can I say, I have a book addiction!
All in all a fab evening and a big thank you to Penguin for organising.
