The Book Blogger Get To Know Me Tag

I was tagged in this great tag by the lovely Laura from She Loves To Read. Laura created this tag so we could get to know more about book bloggers other than the obvious fact that we read.. A Lot! So thank you Laura and lets get started.

Tell us Five random facts about you:

1. When I was little I wanted to be a barrister when I grew up (I'm not in case you are wondering)

2. I love all things Disney.

3. I prefer quiet places to noisy places.

4. I am an Auntie and I love my niece Bella to bits :).

5. I have never owned a bookcase (but getting one finally at the end of May :D)

When is your Birthday?

29th March so I am usually the day before British
Summertime begins, so inevitably I lose an hour on my
birthday practically every year. But no biggie, as doesn't
happen all the time. Even though it's when BST begins, it's
more Spring and I am definitely a Spring baby. I love how
everything starts coming into bloom and start seeing the lambs in the fields.

What is your favourite colour?

Definitely blue- well pale blue to be precise. I find it a really calming colour and it's just such a pretty colour to look at. I of course used to love pink and I still do, but pale blue has taken over since I was about 16.

What is your favourite memory?

This is a hard question! OK, this is a memory that makes me smile a lot. It was a Sunday afternoon and I was about 11 and my Mum and Dad were dragging me and sister to B&Q. I was obviously really bored at this prospect, but then we pulled into the cinema. I said to my Mum and Dad, why are we here? This isn't B&Q. To which they announced that we weren't actually going to B&Q we were going to the preview screening of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone! I was SO excited and literally one of the best surprises I have ever had :D.

Describe a day in your life

On a weekday I get up around 6am (groan!) to get ready for work where I am a Marketing Executive at an insurance company. I leave the house about 7:10am with my Mum and she drops me off at the train station to get my 7:19am train to go to London Bridge. While I'm on my 45min journey I read and it definitely makes the journey more bearable as can lose myself in my book. Once at London Bridge, I then have to get another train to get me to Cannon Street and I usually arrive at work between 8:20 and 8:30am. I have a little chat with my friend who is the receptionist there then go and switch on my computer and make myself a cup of tea. Work doesn't officially start until 9am but I like getting in when its quiet and get ahead on some work and of course check my twitter and blog :). I'm usually starving by 11:30am (well I have been awake since 6) so I go and get some lunch and beat the lunch hour rush and I come back to my desk and read for an hour and check twitter and reply to emails. Work continues and then it's finally home time at 5pm. So I head back to get my train, where I spend the time reading and eventually arrive home at about 6:20pm. I shower and sit down to dinner, play with my niece, read and write up blog posts, before I crash into bed at about 9-9:30pm.

Name five of your favourite songs

In no particular order:

1. Defying Gravity from the musical Wicked

2. Happy by Pharell Williams

3. All Night Long by Lionel Richie

4. Only Love by Ben Howard

5. Blue Jeans by Bastille

If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Horror of horrors if this was to happen lol. Probably not the best thing to eat for the rest of my life, but I would happily just eat bread. I love all kinds of bread and it smells so good!

What is something you really dislike?

Rude people, ignoring, stereotyping. (Lets change the subject I want to think of nice things :)).

Summer or Winter

Although both have their own qualities, I definitely think Summer is best. The days are longer and lighter. It puts me in a good mood, you can dress in pretty clothes without having to cover them up with loads of layers and sitting in the garden reading in the sunshine.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Edinburgh, hands down! I went there a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it. The
people there were so friendly and it's an amazing city. Definitely the best city I have ever been to. It's got everything you could possibly want without it having the crowds that London has to go with it.

Name your five favourite films

1. Beauty and the Beast

2. Monsters Inc

3. Despicable Me

4. Harry Potter

5. Finding Nemo

Kids films basically LOL.

If you won the lottery what would you buy?

I would buy a really big house in the countryside with a massive library for all my books. I would also buy a penthouse in London, so that I had the best of both worlds. I would also open up my own bookshop cum teashop, which is what I would love to do in an ideal world.

Favourite day of the week?

Definitely Saturday. No 6am starts :)

What three things would you take to a desert island with you?

Harry Potter, iPad Mini and Shampoo- I am a bit obsessed with having clean hair!

Sweet or Savoury?

Savoury- give me a bag of crisps any day.

Name five of your favourite books

Only five? Argh, OK.

1. Harry Potter (I know that's 7, but it's basically one really long book lol)

2. Fractured by Dani Atkins

3. The Tigers Wife by Téa Obreht

4. Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen

5. This is What Happy Looks Like by Jen E. Smith

Favourite drink?

Tea

Favourite Animal?

Rabbits. I had a pet rabbit as my first pet called Sammy. He is white and grey and so fluffy and cute. He lives with my Auntie now as I can't give him the attention that he deserves. He is nearly 10 years old!

Who do you tag next?

The lovely Simona, the lovely Zarina, the lovely Sharon and the lovely Emily.

  1. I LOVE EVERYTHING DISNEY TOO!! Is there anything Disney we can do in Brighton next month? Haha!

I am actually surprised at how short your commute is, your day is basically the same as mine except I usually have stuff on after wark so no time for reading (except the commute back) or blogging (which I mainly do int he weekend and schedule for the week(s) ahead).

Thanks for the tag :) x

    1. Yay another Disney fanatic! Sadly there's only the Disney store in brighton- but I will double check there's nothing on.

Seriously? but you seem to get so much more done than me! My niece does take up a lot of my time though- not complaining obviously but I blame her for not getting a lot done lol. I like to get my blog posts done during the week if I can so that I can relax at the weekend :) xx
